IDA Power is the Environmental Manager and General Contractor on this complex redevelopment project in Staten Island, NY. IDA provides permitting, demolition, earthwork, and oversight of all environmental remediation efforts at this 200-acre former Major Oil Storage Facility, including negotiating consent orders with USEPA, and NYDEC and executing all environmental closure and post-closure obligations.
Responsibilities included demolition of 38 oil storage tanks and all related infrastructure; oversight of the site remediation contract; construction of remedial capping; in-situ stabilization of grossly contaminated soils and groundwater; and site grading for redevelopment. IDA Power’s responsibilities will include fill import (via barge and truck), and placement, and compaction of approximately 1.25-million cubic yards of beneficially reused fill material.
