Our team is built to meet IDA’s unique vision and mission. Our principals and senior management team have extensive experience in various critical industries, including real estate and redevelopment; environmental remediation, planning, due diligence, and permitting; natural resources; energy and construction; and civil and environmental engineering.
IDA’s team includes engineers, environmental scientists and technicians, construction managers, logistics specialists, land planners, realtors, financiers and attorneys. IDA utilizes these resources as dictated by the needs of our clients. Over the years, our principals have provided these services to owners, investors, builders, manufacturers, logistics providers, other end users and regulatory agencies.

Steve Radel has over 30 years of diverse experience in the environmental, energy, and private development sectors. He began his career in western Pennsylvania managing environmental liabilities for Beazer East (former Koppers Company) and worked on and managed the environmental matters on a number of properties in western Pennsylvania and other sites throughout the US. Steve received his BS in Environmental Studies from Allegheny College, his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, and his JD from Duquesne University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
Steve’s extensive experience includes: managing the successful cleanup of hazardous wastes associated with a large portfolio of sites in the United States; working with local, State and Federal regulators in over 15 states to manage complex environmental remediation projects; integrating remediation and development on completed projects; permitting renewable energy projects; permitting dredge management projects; beneficially reusing dredged material on various brownfield developments; evaluating sites and assisting energy generation companies in locating sites for power generation facilities; negotiating cleanup agreements; beneficial reuse of various material on large remediation and development projects. Other experiences include wetlands permitting and reclamation; and managing and assuming site environmental liabilities through successful remediation. Steve's broad-based experience provides him with a unique perspective when working with clients to address their important environmental issues.

Brett has over 30 years of experience in the construction, logistics, environmental, and energy sectors working with and for public and private companies. His experience includes acting in a number of capacities (General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and President and CEO) for companies within those sectors. Brett was one of the founders of ISG Resources, Inc. (then Headwaters, Boral and now EcoMaterials) and was responsible for the consolidation of the fly ash industry and coal combustion product industry in the US by acquiring over 50 companies. Brett received his BA from The Citadel and his JD from The University of South Carolina School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in South Carolina and before the US District Court for the State of South Carolina, the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the US Supreme Court.
Brett’s extensive experience includes representing public and private companies in administrative, compliance, and licensing efforts before local, state (SC, GA, TN, FL, MS, NY, NJ, PA, TX, CA, UT, AZ), federal (NTSB, EPA, NRC, DOE, DOD) and international (Canada, UK and Mexico) regulatory agencies in several industries. He was responsible for the construction, operation and/or closure of hundreds of landfills and impoundments.

Jared has 16 years of management, finance, and accounting experience and has worked as a controller and chief financial officer in the finance industries, fabrication and manufacturing, real estate, and private equity investments. Jared received his B.S. Degree in Accounting from Weber State University and his Masters in Taxation and Accounting from Weber State University.
Jared’s extensive background in management, finance, and accounting includes: experience in financial controls, budgets, financial reporting, tax preparation, and forecasting; ensuring compliance with financial accounting standards; managing a commercial/industrial real estate portfolio of approximately $100M in value for 10 years; involvement with the financing, acquisition, construction and disposition of commercial, industrial, residential, and agricultural real estate and responsibility for the financial modeling of projects, real estate contracts and leases, and securing financing and tax planning.

Jake has over 15 years of management experience in heavy fabrication, machining, and logistics in the nuclear, aerospace, and industrial industries. He is responsible for procuring and maintaining large industrial equipment for multiple firms and industries. Jake received a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Business Administration Degree from Weber State University.
Jake’s management experience includes: being Project Manager in fabrication and manufacturing industries; serving as Chief Operating Officer in the industrial real estate industry; serving on the Board of Directors for a large fabrication firm and a private equity investment firm; collaborating to form and manage multiple companies and partnerships with other firms; responsibility for the implementation of a new ERP system that replaced all of the company’s complex legacy systems.

Braxton has 10 years of management, finance, and accounting experience. He has worked as an assistant controller and controller in the industries of finance, real estate, private equity investments, tax, commercial construction, and property management and operated his own businesses for years, with a successful sale of one of his businesses in 2021. He is experienced in budgets, financial reporting, tax preparation, tax planning, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial accounting standards. Braxton graduated from Weber State University with his B.S. Degree in Accounting and a Masters in Taxation and Accounting.

Jay has over 30 years of environmental and consulting experience specializing in environmental remediation, hydrogeology and waste disposal facility design, operations, and closure. As Senior Vice President of Engineering for IDA Power, Jay is responsible for the development of business relationships with prospective clients and vendors in the electric utility sector. Additionally, Jay provides engineering support for the design and execution of environmental remediation and site development plans. Jay holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University and B.S. in Geology from Allegheny College.
During his tenure in the industry, Jay has: originated and closed over $1 billion in power plant liability transfers with large utility companies including AES, AEP, Duke, GenOn, NRG, and Vistra; experiences in the Power Plant sector including developing site-specific remediation, closure and post-closure plans for CCR landfills/impoundments; managed construction/monitoring of over 2,000 acres of CCR unit capping and closure by removal of over 3 million tons of CCR; and invented and patented a sustainable CCR impoundment capping system.

Jim has over 30 years of combined experience in the civil and structural engineering, construction, and remediation fields. Jim is a Registered Professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey and Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Newark College of Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Jim’s substantial industry experiences include: responsibility for a multitude of environmental projects in New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, and New York City of varying size and scope; conducting Structural, Phase I/Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and Property Condition Assessments for residential and commercial real estate; managing major Brownfields redevelopment cleanup projects and designing/building contracts with costs ranging from $130 million to $400 million; providing construction management and consulting services to developers, private parties, the regulated community, and municipalities; responsibility for numerous design/build opportunities involving: pre-construction planning; structural analysis; cost and scheduling start-up field operations; staffing resources; tracking performance for the demolition and decommissioning of buildings and the execution of soil and groundwater designs, treatment system installations and multiple landfill closures throughout the NY/NJ Metro area.

Mike has over 20 years of experience in the environmental industry, with a focus on environmental remediation, permitting, and planning; wetlands/water management, and brownfields redevelopment. Mike is responsible for developing and managing project teams of attorneys, engineers, and consultants, and acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders. Mike is a professional planner (AICP) and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). He holds an MA in Environmental Studies from Brown University and a BS in Environmental Design from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Mike’s substantial environmental industry experience includes: permitting Brownfield remediation and redevelopment and utility scale energy projects, including gas, geothermal, ground-mounted solar, and offshore wind; extensive experience in project and program management, including project budgeting, scheduling, and scope; development and management of project teams of engineers, consultants, attorneys, etc; responsibility for the management of the largest remedial capping project in New York City that entailed placement of 5m cy. of fill material; responsibility for managing, remediating, entitling, and permitting the second largest brownfield redevelopment site in New York City and for permitting the largest ground-mounted solar array in the US at the time (Ivanpah Solar) and the first offshore wind farm (Block Island Wind Farm).

Patrick has over 25 years of domestic and international business development and consulting experience within the civil, environmental, land development, and heavy construction markets. As Vice President of Engineering and Business Development, Patrick works closely with the utility and power generation communities seeking creative solutions to address retired or decommissioned legacy sites and manage ongoing environmental responsibilities. Patrick’s significant experience in the design, development, and construction of various engineered infrastructure systems allows him to engage IDA’s engineering and contracting partners and provide innovative uses for clients’ distressed assets including beneficial reuse of CCR materials, land redevelopment, and renewable energy options including solar and battery storage potential. Patrick holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University.
Patrick’s previous development and consulting experience includes: positions in Project Management and Business Development with Key Environmental, Inc. where he was responsible for expanding Key’s market share for civil and environmental engineering services within the industrial and utility sectors and particularly focused on identifying liability assumption opportunities and developing engineered solutions related to CCR landfills and impoundments at retired coal fired power stations across the US. Patrick has held positions at several engineering and manufacturing companies focused on the design and installation of engineered systems including: geosynthetic stabilization and lining systems; mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls; stormwater management and erosion control systems; long-span culverts and prestressed and post-tensioned bridges.

Over the first 20 years of his career, Mr. Truzzi took part in the engineering design, permitting, development, construction, and operations of waste-management-related facilities. This included all civil and environmental components for waste management disposal, handling, and transportation facilities. Over the next 10 years, he managed and oversaw civil and environmental engineering design, permitting and construction in the oil and gas industry in Pennsylvania. Over the last 4 years, he was the EH&S Manager for a fossil and nuclear electric generation company, where he continued to provide civil and environmental services and oversaw the company’s health and safety program. Over the last 34 years, he took part in acquisitions, divestitures, and legal matters. Mr. Truzzi has also presented at Oil & Gas and Waste Management conferences. Mr. Truzzi joined IDA in January 2024 to share his years of experience and expertise in the development/redevelopment of industrial properties acquired by the company.
Mr. Truzzi earned degrees in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Civil Engineering from Penn State University and University of Pittsburgh. He holds Professional Engineering licenses in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Xavier has over 10 years of combined experience in the heavy civil construction and geotechnical engineering fields. Xavier is a certified special inspector in the State of New Jersey, an FAA certified Part 107 Drone Pilot, and a Registered Professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Newark College of Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Xavier’s project management experiences include: as a project engineer, being involved in the construction of storm and sanitary sewers, water mains, and various other related work during the early phases of new developments throughout New Jersey and New York; being staff engineer, construction inspector, and project manager while serving in the capacity of a geotechnical engineering consultant on projects throughout New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut; involvement in the construction of deep pile foundations, shallow foundations, retaining walls, underpinned foundations, slope stability analyses, deep dynamic compaction, surcharge design and settlement monitoring and various geotechnical investigations.

Mark has over 14 years of experience working in all aspects of the power generation business. Over the past 6 years Mark has served as Project Manager for the 940-acre Little Blue Run surface impoundment closure project in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Mark holds an Associate Degree in Power Plant Technology from Youngstown State University.

Chima has over 16 years of experience working in the environmental industry. Over the past 10 years Chima has been involved in managing all aspects of environmental remediation and capping projects, from quality assurance to working with onsite IDA personnel to ensure compliance with engineering and environmental requirements. He is proficient in site surveying, health and safety, stormwater management and erosion control. Chima holds a B.S. in Geographic Information Systems from SUNY Environmental Sciences and Forestry- Syracuse, NY.

With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Helton provides management and administration of remedial system field operations for numerous locations nationwide. These remedial systems include: dense non-aqueous phase liquid (DNAPL) recovery; groundwater collection and treatment systems; air sparge; soil vapor extraction/abatement; acid mine drainage treatment; and enhanced bioremediation at former and active manufacturing sites.
Mr. Helton specializes in Operation Maintenance and Monitoring program development, implementation, and optimization.

Over the last 28 years, Mr. Reich’s experiences include: Alta-Survey; Global Positioning System surveys; Power Plant construction including waste ponds, lagoons and ash impoundments; bathymetric surveying for quantities and dredging; Side Scan Sonar for mapping and object location; Aerial elevation tie-in and boundary surveys, construction layout on retail centers; Topographic surveys for stormwater retention facilities; layout of test borings; boundary survey with topography; building stakeout for dynamic compaction; staked relocation of gas line at railroad crossing, sanitary and stormwater layout, road layout and grades; center line control (PC, PI, PT), lot and building stakeout; grubbing and center line stakeout; slope staking for retention facilities and grading; and test bore layout on parking lots. His project work has also included boundary surveys, construction, and test boring layouts for commercial, industrial and residential developments.

Over the last three decades, Mr. Falkinburg has brought his surveying expertise to a variety of construction companies where he has: managed personnel and projects; utilized his extensive knowledge of the latest technologies and equipment in the industry including AutoCAD software, GPS, robotics, drones, and machine control; and created design surfaces from temporary, intermediate, and final designs to perform takeoffs, machine control operations, and field layout.

Welke has over 3 years of experience working on civil construction and environmental remediation projects working as an engineer to support the onsite Project Engineer. Welke is proficient in site surveying using the Propeller System and managing onsite field crews.

Jay began his career in the energy industry in 1980 as a corporate engineer with the Potomac Electric Power Company in Washington, DC. In 2000, he started a distinguished career working with several Independent Power Producers such as Mirant, GenOn and NRG Energy, where he retired in 2017 as Regional Vice President of Operations for their western region. Jay worked as a consultant in the power industry prior to joining Energy Harbor as their Senior Vice President – Fossil Division Company. He left Energy Harbor in 2023 and returned to consulting where he is now focusing on redeveloping retired fossil generating sites.
Jay graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Mr. Wilson currently supervises and maintains one of the largest impoundments in the United States, Little Blue Run. Mr. Wilson is responsible for the site’s daily operations including managing crew, ordering parts, repairing equipment, and impoundment inspections. Previously, Mr. Wilson was Little Blue Run’s Site Supervisor with Energy Harbor.

IDA employs staff across the country in various different departments and roles. With employees from New York to Utah and everywhere in between, we are more than 50 employees strong and continuing to grow. We have a vast network of subcontractors across the country and phenomenal support staff. IDA hires in-house surveyors, engineers, attorneys, real estate professionals and heavy equipment operators. IDA also has an in-house accounting, operations, finance, and IT Support staff in Utah that provides support for the company.
