Dupont Road Site

Dupont Road Site

Dupont Road, Oregon, Lucas County, Ohio

IDA, through a wholly owned subsidiary, acquired the Dupont Road Site (Dupont Road Site) pursuant to a liability assumption agreement with Energy Harbor Generation LLC (EHG). The Dupont Road Site consists of two large parcels of land. The Dupont Road Site was previously part of the Bay Shore Power Station until Walleye Power acquired the facility in March 2018. At the time of purchase, the Dupont Road properties were retained by FirstEnergy Generation, LLC (EHG’s predecessor).

Currently, Pet Coke and steam transmission lines are situated within an easement across the western parcel. The 121.7-acre eastern parcel is an electric-transmission corridor under an easement. It is also used for crop farming.

The Bay Shore Power Plant is located north and northwest of the Dupont Road parcels. Adjacent properties west, southwest, and south of the western parcel are used by oil-related processing facilities CITGO and BP Husky. The north-south Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway Line is situated on a narrow property between the parcels. The City of Oregon Fire Department Training Center and Waste-Water Treatment Plant is to the south. Finally, City of Oregon properties and Johlin Ditch are east of the eastern parcel.

IDA is evaluating potential use of the parcels for commercial/industrial uses, such as ground-mounted solar facilities, battery energy storage facilities, or telecom or data centers. Other uses considered are non-commercial/industrial, such as recreational or non-invasive municipal uses.
